About the rides:
Helmets required. The rides will start at 9am. Road rides will leave from the picnic area. We’ll have a road ride doing rolling hills and covered bridges which will cover around 35 miles at a moderate pace. A second ride will head up the mountain and on some of the nearby dirt roads, 25-30 miles at a relaxed pace.
The mountain bike rides will consist of two moderate rides, one will be a women’s only ride and the other will be open to all. The terrain ranges from smooth to rocky and technical with some decent climbs. The start location is approximately 7 miles from the picnic location. Following the ride we’ll head over to Cunningham Falls.
All rides will return in time for the picnic start.

Hi all!
I came across the information about the rides/picnic on logoffrideon.com and just joined the FBC. I can’t commit quite yet but more than likely my husband Mark and I will join the Shed mountain bike ride(s) and head on over to the picnic afterwards. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Great! Looking forward to meeting and riding with you guys.
Just finished up the queue sheet, and I have an awesome ride(s) planned! There is a 42 miler that encompasses my all favorite aspects of the Monocacy/Glade Valley. There is a ‘cheater’ cutoff option that brings it down to 32 miles, but it cuts off the best hills and the absolute best road. But pretty much the whole thing is rolling terrain, Basically makes a big triangle, Thurmont->Woodsboro->Utica->Thurmont.
That good enough? Or want more detail? Might have to wait until Sunday!

I plan to be there for the road ride and the picnic!
Not THE Mark Renshaw, the leadout man for HTC-Columbia and the “Manx Missile”, Mark Cavendish? The one who head-butted Julian Dean to give Cav a stage win and got kicked out of the Tour for it.
